Marianne Nice M.S. CCC-SLP, C-SLDS

Marianne Nice Curriculum Vitae
Marianne’s personal connection to dyslexia through family experiences, combined with her early professional work, inspired her to specialize in language, literacy, and dyslexia. She earned a Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of New Hampshire in 1998 and began her career as a full-time speech-language pathologist, serving students across elementary, middle, and high school settings. In 2003, Marianne fulfilled her lifelong aspiration by founding her own private practice.

In 2009, Marianne earned her Reading Specialist credentials and began consulting with schools on Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), Response to Intervention (RTI), and effective literacy models. She has since partnered with over 25 schools to provide professional development, consultation, and coaching in literacy. Additionally, Marianne has offered case-based consultations to families of students with mild to severe dyslexia, collaborating closely with school-based teams to support individualized needs.

With training in over 11 different reading intervention programs, Marianne possesses extensive expertise in multisensory, structured language, and literacy approaches. She has also contributed to higher education as a former adjunct faculty member in the University of New Hampshire’s Speech-Language Pathology graduate program. Recognized by the International Dyslexia Association (IDA) as a Certified Structured Literacy Dyslexia Specialist, Marianne, brings a comprehensive and evidence-based perspective to her work in advancing literacy outcomes. She is also a sought-after speaker on language and literacy, presenting nationally and internationally, including at conventions for IDA and the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Over her 27-year career, she has earned a reputation for her compassion, expertise, and commitment to advancing literacy outcomes.

Marianne resides in southern New Hampshire with her husband of 24 years, Keith, and their two children.

Sheana Thorell M.Ed.

Sheana is widely acknowledged as a dedicated advocate for both children and educators. She excels in adopting a strengths-based approach to view every student, ensuring that instruction is differentiated to meet diverse academic needs while simultaneously addressing students' social-emotional well-being. Additionally, Sheana is deeply passionate about coaching teachers, and guiding them in refining their instructional practices to enhance outcomes for all students.

With a distinguished 29-year career in education, Sheana brings a wealth of diverse experiences to her work, providing valuable support to educators and administrators alike. She earned her Master’s Degree in Special Education from the University of New Hampshire in 1997 and has since served as an upper-elementary classroom teacher for 25 years, as well as a special educator and administrator. This breadth of experience makes her a versatile and highly effective consultant.

Sheana holds multiple certifications, including general and special education credentials, along with associate principal and curriculum administrator certifications. She is also a graduate of the NHSAA Granite State Leadership Academy Fellowship and has served as a Lead Teacher/Liaison for the Education Accelerator at Mindspark Learning (Lakewood, CO). Her professional development expertise includes roles as a Key to Literacy Building Coach and a graduate of the LETRS training program.

In recognition of her exceptional contributions to education, Sheana was honored with the Nicholas Popov Local Teacher of the Year Award. Her extensive qualifications and practical experience position her as a trusted resource and advocate for educational excellence. Sheana also lives in southern New Hampshire with her partner of 13 years, Christine. They enjoy time on their boat or kayaking on the lake in the summer and traveling to National Parks. Sheana also loves to read, and spend time with her niece and nephew, and loves all things related to astronomy!

Keith Nice M. Ed.

Keith is highly regarded for his dynamic energy and exceptional ability to connect with and inspire children with diverse emotional and educational needs. He earned his Master’s Degree in Special Education from the University of New Hampshire in 1998 and obtained his reading certification in 2006. With over 20 years of experience in early elementary education, Keith brings a wealth of expertise to his work in both public schools and private practice.

Keith is trained in more than seven nationally recognized reading programs and serves as a National Trainer for Reading with TLC. In collaboration with his wife of 24 years, Marianne, he delivers professional development seminars and webinars to educators nationwide.

Beyond education, Keith is a dedicated and accomplished judo coach, with students who have competed at both national and international levels. He resides in southern New Hampshire with Marianne and their two children, aged 18 and 21.

Kristen True M. Ed., C-SLDS

Kristen’s dedication to the best literacy practices was sparked by her early experience teaching upper elementary students, where she recognized the need for stronger preparation in foundational reading instruction. She originally earned her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from Plymouth State College in 1995, later obtaining her Special Education certification and a Master’s in English Teaching (MST) from the University of New Hampshire.

After 18 years as an upper elementary teacher, Kristen transitioned to the role of a reading teacher, where she discovered her true passion for literacy instruction. Since 2019, she has completed extensive training in five different reading programs, two-year-long practicums through IMSE, and both teacher and administrator-level LETRS training.

Kristen is a certified Reading and Writing Specialist, an Orton-Gillingham (OG) Certified IMSE Comprehensive and Morphology Practitioner, and an IDA Certified Structured Literacy Dyslexia Specialist. She lives in southern New Hampshire with her husband and their two daughters.
